Wjherman
As a fairly new owner of a Sportcruiser, can you share with me what tach reading you use for cruise speed and the actual air speed you are seeing at that tach setting? Thanks, John
Crusader16
Hi John and welcome to the Flight. I typically cruise around 5200 rpm between 3000 and 4500 feet. On the average I see about 110 kts indicated. Your mileage may vary with how your prop is setup. Congrats of being a new SportCruiser owner. Have fun flying! Deltafox
For xcountry I use 5350 - 5450, TAS ~ 118 with burn at < 6.0 gal/hr. When bouncing in the local area for fun I set fuel flow at 5 gal/hr and use whatever she gives me. Skyview.mp4
dnhill
Like Deltafox, I use 5350-5450 in cruise, most often toward the 5450 end if smooth air. At that setting I am 6.0 gal/hr. However, at that setting in my plane I'm only getting 113-116 TAS level cruise depending on altitude.
