I watched a video where a CFI would intentionally unlatch the door of his Bonanza trainer, just after take-off, so that all his students could experience the noise and feel of having the door pop open in flight, in a controlled environment.    It sounds extreme, but people have crashed as a result of trying to close the door/canopy in flight and simply forgot to "just fly the airplane" as taught.  He feels that, since most pilots will eventually experience the event, it is better to be familiar

How many nose wheel gear legs have you installed on your plane ?  My 2007 is on the third version.   I think they are trying to modify the natural resonance of the gear by stiffening the gear leg.  Natural frequencies are just as easily changed by reducing the stiffness.  CA should do a finite element analyses (FEA) or a modal analyses I think they will find they are going the wrong way with the correction.

Thanks! Southern New Hampshire and Maine have a large supply of fresh water lakes and we do have a cabin on one I can fly into. Right now it's skis or ice runways, like Alton Bay, where you can land on wheels. But I'd rather do some Arizona time about now with 2 feet of snow here and another foot on the way.
