A compromise between the classic "rectangular" and "circular" traffic pattern

DavePilot

A compromise between the classic "rectangular" and "circular" traffic pattern -

a slightly steeper Downwind to Base turn where the airspeed is still high and the probability of a stall/spin scenario is low

and a short base section, using part of the rectangular traffic pattern, retains the advantage of a short wings level base section and a Quick Peek towards final for traffic avoidance

and then continues with a very shallow, continous Base to Final "circular" pattern,

preventing an uncoordinated, overshoot caused, Steep Base to Final stall/spin scenario and loss of control.
