  1. Hey Glenn. Welcome to the group. Great looking plane!
  2. Welcome to the forum Kurt. There are a lot of very helpful folks on here. I haven’t been in the LSA community but a couple of years now but from everything I see parts for the Sportcruiser can be difficult in the US. Mine is E-LSA and I’m sure you will get told to go that route. Again, Welcome, best of luck, and keep us updated.
  3. Thanks for all you do Dave. This forum has been a very big asset to me, being a new ELSA owner. Let me know where to send contributions to. Thanks Kevin
  4. I sure appreciate it. I’m sure I’m about to feel like I’m in over my head!
  5. Dave, if you love wiring avionics, keep your ears open for me please! I might have some questions. I’m about to upgrade mine. Shawn has been answering questions and giving moral support. I haven’t started yet but it’s in the near future
  6. Welcome Whizz. Nice plane. Thanks for sharing the video
  7. Welcome mdkeiper! There are lots of really good folks here willing to help out
  8. Welcome IdahoFarmer. Good luck with the parts. Let us know how it goes.
  9. Welcome Bill and good luck with your purchase. I just bought one last July so I paid the inflated price also. It was a reality check when I was looking and remember what they were selling for a few years ago! But that’s irrelevant. I love the plane! I’ve had a couple of problems with it and with the help of the fine folks on this forum I’ve managed to keep it going. Hope everything works out for you and welcome to the group.
  10. Welcome Ivinsea. Great looking plane. I’m pretty new here. It’s a really good forum. Everyone here has really been excellent at trying to help with any issues. Sounds like you have some experienced LSA folks nearby. I haven’t found them around my area yet so the forum has been a big help for me. If you ever have a question about something this is a good place to look for help. Again, welcome.
  11. Hey Tony. Welcome to the forum. I am a low time pilot and new Sportcruiser owner as well. I just bought one last July. I’ve had a couple of issues with it and the guys on here are a great source of information and willing to help. Good luck in your search and welcome.
  12. I haven’t noticed any different sound but it disengages itself after a couple of seconds. I hope it’s not the sprag. The cables from the battery, solenoid and starter are not getting warm or anything. I’m gonna try to check some voltages this weekend.
  13. Thanks Dave. I do have the diode on mine. I’m not sure about the rest. I’m gonna investigate further this weekend
  14. I had installed the Odyssey. I haven’t been back to try the heat and cold. I’ll let you know what I find
  15. Thanks Admin. That video makes perfect sense but won’t work in my situation. Mine is running smooth as silk after it starts. It’s just stopped starting. I’m beginning to think something is going on keeping me from getting the RPMs needed for cranking.
  16. I’ll try it and see. I was wondering if somehow I may have something electrical going on, that you might have heard of, causing them to go bad. Thanks Shawn
  17. Thanks Brudy. Don’t know if you are familiar with where I am in it right now. Quick catch up, I had a no start issue. Sent both modules to Lockwood for test. 1 checked good, 1 bad. I bought 1 replacement for the bad one. Put them back in and it started right up. I ran it for about 15 minutes on the ground and cut it off. It set a week and when I got back it’s the same no start issue. I have 2 new Ignitech modules I can install and try. I was wondering if it’s a possibility that there could be a loose ground or something to check for before I put in another module and fry it? Thanks for any advice.
  18. Shawn if you’re still keeping up here I got a question. I put that new module in and it cranked right up. I ran it on the ground for about 10-15 minutes, shut down and parked. I came back last weekend and same thing! Won’t crank! I’m wondering if the other went bad, it was just tested at Lockwood, if the new one went bad, or something else. I got those temp strips but didn’t have them when I ran it that day. I noticed the coolant cap is only about an inch from where those modules mount. It definitely gets hot. I ordered 2 new modules from Ignitech in Czech Republic. They have long leads so you can mount on the firewall away from heat and vibration. Im planning to try that but wondered if there could be a ground or something loose somewhere causing it to fry them. Do you have any thought on it? Thanks
  19. Thanks RTK. I might still be interested in that. I’ll get back with you soon. I ran into some more trouble.
